model portfolios

A portfolio is your business card. It is how you communicate with the companies who will provide you with all of your work, via your model agency. (It is not the done thing to sign to more than one agency) As you progress in your modelling career, so will your pictures. A good portfolio is never finished, but added to on regular intervals.

Your portfolio should stay with you wherever you go, whether it be to a casting or audition or even when meeting a photographer. It contains your full modelling CV and details of all the work you will have done to date. Portfolios can cost anything from £195 - £400 depending on the amount of pictures and the quality of the photographer you choose. You will require a portfolio with at least 6 pictures to approach a model agency before they can decide whether to sign you up.

The first thing they will ask to see are some recent black & white photographs, including a close up head shot, three quarter length body shot and a full length shot. You can arrange to have a portfolio created by anybody, however we would advise a bit of caution…
